I've been having gallbladder problems over the past few months and it's gotten to where attacks are painfully lengthy. Tried changing the diet, dramatically, yet it still persists. Good side is I've lost about 10-15 pounds.
Anyway the doc says it's time to yank that thing out.
So I guess I'll be off work for a week and I'm hoping I'll be able to get in some quality guitar time.
Don't know why I'm posting this here but ST has gotten to be a big thing for me, like a second family.

My wife had hers removed several years ago. I wish you swift healing and relief from your pain.

Good luck! Everybody in my family has had theirs out except me. I don't think any one of them had difficulties. In and out, back to work. I hope your experience is the same.

Today, they do it arthroscopically...just a couple of puncture wounds, etc. My mother had hers done in the early 60s...gutted her like a trout. Huge scar, lengthy recovery, etc.

Oh man, my wife had to have hers out. She kept having terrible pains after eating fatty foods as the gallblatter secretes stuff to help with that.

Anyway. I hope yours does not go like hers did, they wouldn't let her eat anything but ice chips for nearly 3 or 4 days before they removed it.

My wife had hers out last spring and it was pretty nasty according to the doctor. They did the 5 little holes procedure so not bad that way. She does have issues with fatty foods but we don't eat too much of that. You may have a drain bag thingy and they will monitor it to make sure you're ok. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Good luck and a swift recovery.
I might have to have it done sometime soon myself. Last year, a scan for another issue turned up a large gallstone, but I haven’t had any symptoms yet the doc told me to look out for.
