im only a minute in to this and i think its my favorite thing ive seen you play. i dont like mustang amps all that much but you sure get some great tones out of it. ill bet it aint the amp.
edit......man that was epic.
i try to wrap my head around what you do. i think youre ahead of your time. youve been practicing your scale runs i see. i mean hear. thumbs up.....i wish i could think in your terms about music.
i also think this is one of the favorite things ive ever heard you play. to me it sounded like ry cooder meets the blues brothers meets muddy waters. meets miles davis (the time change thing).
dude thats cool as hell, but it reminds me of an unfortunate incident. i got too drunk one night in houston and went to an open mic night. i took rehab and plugged into a dudes classic 30....they told me i did ok on guitar but later when i was not on stage they played this song and i went up, grabbed the mic, and started singing, "baby please dont go". it would have been ok if i had remembered the rest of the lyrics but i just repeated that same thing. i think thats when bob decided it was time to go....i dont remember.
@heltershelton: Thanks for the compliment on the song. You created a visual for me with your anecdote. It seems that you've stood on the edge of the abyss and were able to step back from it.
I haven't put anything on here in a while...........
i was lassoed and hauled away bro....
Happy Tuesday Bluesday! Let me be the first today to drop one into the thread. This is a somewhat raucous version of Canned Heat's "On the Road Again".
The rhythm guitar is a PRS Soapbar II with P90's. The lead is my Les Paul Deluxe with custom wound PUPs. Both are through Vox Tonelab LE patches I programmed. I hope you like it. I had fun doing it. Thanks as always for listening!
Good stuff @Swingbass and @Brian H
Here's a short jam in the vibe of Joe Bonamassa
short snippet of old blues
Good stuff @mjark
Not sure if I've posted this one before, just trying to help keep this thread alive.
Here is one from 2014!
Been awhile since I posted. Here’s a little something on my Les Paul with dimarzio super distortion and PAF pro, and my strat with fender tex mex.
Hope someone likes it
Fresh off the DAW early this AM.
Fretless Jazz Bass and Veronica ('TBO' style strat).
@dogletnoir - I dont know if I'd call it Blues, but it's pretty cool
i generally reject any narrow definitions according to genre
(which has gotten me called on the carpet before around here),
but here's one that might be just a bit more clear in terms of a 'blues' connection:
Autumn Colours (revisited)
Then again, maybe not... i guess it all depends on one's perspective.
