What do you think?
Granddad's old strats!
I've been following the '64 with a skeptical eye. Didn't see the '56.
Hmmm, just up the road in Shipley. I'm not optimistic.
Honestly, don't see anything wrong with the guitars. Of course, this does not mean I trust these listings. There's almost no history and feedback on the seller. And it strikes me that the pictures of the two listings are so different...
I would bid, but only with local pickup. In general they aren't willing for all sort of reasons.
Let's see what he has to say to this:
I'm ready to bid on both listings but I want to confirm that the guitars can be picked up locally and be paid for at the time of pickup.
Looking forward to your answer.
I wouldn´t trust him - he used a different guitar in the detailed neck (pickup) pic than in the shot before - the ´56 Strat.
Typical eBayer buying cheap stuff to push his rating and then going for the big bucks.
The good thing is we have "his" finger prints in the ´64 pics xD.
To be honest I don´t trust him but that does not mean a thing.
But the price is too high yet to take any risk anyway. It will rise and will get over 10k for the ´64.
I would not piss away my money like that on a guitar, any guitar without getting it in person.
All the best,
The fact that he will give a 10% discount for money transfer rings alarm bells - Paypal is the buyer's only safe option IMHO......
Classic scam - playing on the buyer's greed. Buyer thinks "great, 10% discount" but then immediately loses any Ebay/Paypal security when the guitar doesn't show up.
Still no answer by the way...
Not a good sign...
Yeah that is suspicious. It's also against Ebay rules, wire transfers are not an approved payment method.
Don't know how it works over there, but he must know that a serious buyer at that price point is going to want to remove the neck and pick-guard, and have a look inside.
Link doesn't work.
It looks like it's been pulled.
Looks like Ebay pulled it. I reported it, might be why.
If it looks too good to be true................
Why??? I was the highest bidder on both... rolleyes
Typical lives in a palace more money than sense sort of person then...
I tend to buy me a lot of sense...
I actually followed through on one of these scams just for fun on a 61' refin for $5k. I asked questions he kept answering I offered PayPal and all sorts of stuff even offering to do a wire transfer but he couldn't even get that together. "I'm in England but I work in Germany so my bank is in Germany and my name is actually Susan". I finally just asked - does this ever really work? Last I heard. Had a relatively decent fake eBay receipt. Overall pretty weak effort
Never trust a boy named Sue.....
"My name is Sue - how do you do!?"
