Alternatively, if you can get their bank account and sort code numbers, I'll pay them by direct electronic transfer, which is as good as cheque but no-one has to write it out, post it, or take it to the bank.

The first thing that came to my mind was ‘Streets of London’ by Ralph McTell.

@simoncroft is much more Punk than I am...

You would think that adopting mechanisms to make it easy for customers to pay for goods and services in advance of supply would be high up the list for any business...

I've added that and Breakdown to the setlist. Now I just need to learn them...

I was thinking the same today. Spent 12 hours in the office today, listened to this concert 4 times:

Unless my Plan D works, I will probably only be bringing 1 guitar to the studio, and be leaving the Mesa at home too! :(
So those that aren't bringing their own instruments need to be aware that you are more than welcome to use my guitar, but not while I'm playing it! :D :D
However, the studio does hire out guitars so if all else fails we'll bag one or two on the day.

What's the consensus of opinion on a keyboard? They have 88 key Yammies for hire....

I did. It sat there looking pretty. I played @Mansonienne ‘s gorgeous acoustic instead, when the time came...

@s5tuart, how many amps will the studio have? Last time Hugo and I brought 3 amps to Paris as we were driving, but we will not drive to London so we'll only bring two guitars and a pedalboard....

I was sort of hoping to borrow someone's bass (@simoncroft are you bringing one?). If not, I'll bring mine. I'll definitely bring a guitar (electric), which anyone can borrow when I'm not playing it.

You're absolutely welcome to borrow my bass. It's similar in the hand to a Fender Precision, if that helps.

Well, we will be needing a keyboard. Sadly, the days when London hire companies would lend me gear for nothing ended more than a decade ago. The only decent keyboard I own is just a MIDI unit, meaning I'd have to lug a synth box up as well. Unless anyone else can bring a keyboard, it will have to be hire.

There should be plenty of amps: http://www.westbournerehearsals.com/index.htm

Amp-wise there are 3 bass amps and 3 guitar amps supplied with the studio. We can easily hire more if we need them.
There is a probability that I'll be travelling down and back by train, in which case I will only bring one guitar.
My remaining plan is to get someone to drive myself, David and Marie down and collect us, in which case I'll bring 3 guitars and my Mesa Boogie, all of which can be used by anyone else.
March is a long way off (at the moment!) but I just wanted to put it out there... :)

Being a noob at this, how does it pan out? Will you put together a list of songs we can all learn and then pull straws as to who plays? I imagine having 7 guitars all playing at once might be a bit overkill... :)

For gear I'll probably just bring one guitar on the train - probably a tele as it can do everything (oops - did I really say that on strat talk...)

I'd be up for this if there room for another?

I've not played live for a long time so this might be quite the experience! I'll bring my #1 Strat :)

Thanks @nungesser for pointing me at the post :)
