I’ve been digging the sunbeams and the Martin Clapton’s Choice. I think because both are round wound.

Yeah I really like round vs hex core strings. Only problem is you gotta remember to bring them to tension before cutting the ends off unless you crimp the end real well or the winds can com loose from the core.

Yeah if you pull open the outer packaging on the DR Strings they have a whole little thing on how to crimp the ends to prevent dead strings if you clip before tensioning. They put it on a few years back because folks were always complaining that DR Pure Blues would not intonate or a D or A string would be dead. They were clipping them before applying tension or crimping the end. My guess was they were either doing this for vintage style tuners or locking ones. I guess DR decided to put instructions on their packaging to help this issue.

I use Martin Lifespans 80/20’s on my D15M - I like the brighter strings to balance the mods and lows on the Hog

For my Resonator again lifespans 13’s But phosphor bronze

Martin Marquis 12 to 52 or Martin 80/20 bronze. They sound great and I can usually get them for just over 4 bucks a set.
