Doing my usual clean up and restring for a new guitar and these little splotches are a bit annoying. Can’t seem to get them out. Even if I scratch with my fingernail nothing. What do you think they could be and how could I get them out ? Not a huge issue at all, just wondering.

Try some rubbing compound if it bothers you. However, if you go that route, be prepared to rub out the whole guitar. You will want to remove all the hardware and pickguard. I would start with a medium compound, then a fine compound. Just be careful not to rub through the clear. I would do the medium grit by hand, and then the fine with a buffing pad attached to a cordless drill. You really just want to clean up the finish, without removing too much of the finish.

    .

Dye from sweaty T-shirt or guitar case fluff.

If any puke ever splatters on a white guitar, you can't let it dry, or it will stain the nitro from the acid.

Don't ask me how I know this.

Yeah, cat puke. Maybe dog. Human would be more green, but maybe it's beer puke...that might be it.

You might be able to polish it out with a polishing compound. Something with a very mild abrasive like 3M Finesse It or Maguires. Neither of those will do any damage...other than to polish out any surface scratches...

Ok thanks. will try some of the suggestions. It’s really not a huge deal to me as the guitar as a whole is a beaut.

Kind of looks like dried blood.

Maybe someone was murdered with it. Kind of brings a new meaning to Death Metal.

Anyway, beautiful axe. Hope it doesn't get confiscated during the murder investigation.
