I like tortoise shell on 3C sunburst and olympic pearl body.
I put a Tort guard on all my guitars.
I'll take the mint guard with aged knobs and pu covers, for the win
I like white when it takes on that creamy look.
I also like black.
Tossup between black and tortoise.
Black for modern HotRod guitars and tortoise for vintage-ish.
All the various shades of white/green distant 3rd.
Black, all of it, and none more black.
I like the white!
Im usually good with whatever the guitar came with...
Both of my strats have three ply white... neither of which has aged significantly... so I guess I would choose white
It's like wine and food. All about the pairing.
Black looks the best on sunburst with rosewood fretboard.
I acquired a 3TSB about a month ago. I am thoroughly convinced there isn’t a pick guard that works perfectly with a 3TSB. 2TSB is fine but somehow that little bit of red just makes it so no pick guard works. I think brown tort or parchment look the best but still just not quite right.
All black, no doubt
Nothing works. You are on to something there. Under quartz lights, The mint works very well. Under regular lighting nope. The correct choice depends on your shirt color. Black shirt. Tort guard. White shirt, get a Les Paul. Blue shirt white guard. The pick guard is just too big. If you want it to look good on the wall then light it properly and put a mint guard on it. Otherwise, I would say white. On stage, well mint is wrong unless you have a 61 or something. Sort of like upside down headstocks playing 80s rock.. Just a feel thing. People listen with their eyes to an extent so it's important not to look like a goof with a lollipop purple strat and a mint guard and a white shirt or whatever.
on mine i am going to go with pearl,,but i like black and turtle shell too
White, always white....
Parchment, mint, or tort depending on body color.
