Has anyone made Ice Cream Pizza?
Pineapple on a pizza is disgusting.
But the next video was "Touching A Stranger"
It stinks, I never put fruit on my pizza. That said as a Sicilian American, I never put meat on my pizza either, preferring only natural ingredients and vegetables. This is why I never eat out and make my own instead.
Sicilians has nothing to do with pizza.
Says you. Fruit also "has nothing to do with pizza."
Hey, are you just here stirrin' the sauce or what"
Actually Sicily and Naples were connected as part of Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, like when Napoli was developing the "modern" pizza.
Plus we Sicilians have another type of pizza, a thicker bread-like sfincione.
I still remember recoiling in horror when I first came across that thing in a restaurant in Scotland. I was 8, and never really got past the trauma…
Someone above raised broccoli. Well, I’ve never seen broccoli proper, but pizza with friarielli and anchovies (or sausage if you prefer) is delicious.
So it’s not that I’m a purist or anything – yes, a Margherita or “Rossa” with the right ingredients is simply unbeatable, but I’m open to more elaborate recipes. Pineapple on a pizza IMHO just isn’t a good idea. It’s a bit like coffee smothered in whipped cream with smarties on top… (oh shucks now I’ve opened up another can of smarties…)
What is that stuff they make in Chicago? Its more like some kind of Italian casserole than it is pizza.
Want real pizza- New Haven, CT.
The worst pizza I ever had was in Canada. I ordered pepperoni and what I got was a pizza covered in spiced up ham. They don’t know what real pepperoni is up there. And if I want a real Italian pizza, I will just have my son’s Italian wife make one. Better than Canadian, or American pizza.
Hey @CarbonCanyon... show us how a pizza should look. Just cheese pizza will do.
Edit: CarbonCayon has not posted since Dec. So here is one of his works...
So much pineapple hate here!
Both of my parents and grandparents are from Naples. Which means I am 100 percent Italian, and proud of it. I Iove Hawaiian pizza..with a good pint of stout or porter.
NO to pineapple on pizza.
Love the Neapolitan accent in the vid.
If they had tried that in Sicily there would have been knives, gunfire, and much blood.
But the Italians are too smart to be that stupid.
That was hilarious
I like sauce, cheese, onions, garlic, hot peppers on mine.
That looks delicious!
Not a fan tbh. Artichokes on the other hand... tasty enough.
My extended family is Italian (1st & 2nd gen Aussie).
The thing you need to know about Australia, is that we are all 'Australian', We also identify ourselves as originating from our immigration state if we were not born here, or if we are 1st or 2nd generation born here from immigrant parents... but we share prolifically our unique cultural heritage through our ancestral / regional food.
We consider Ham & Pineapple pizza to be Hawai'ian, rather than Italian.
Being an Island nation ourselves, with many surrounding island nations, we also consider it a legitimate pizza.
We are fortunate in that we are able to use decent fresh ingredients for our pizzas, we make our Hawai'ian pizzas on thin 'italian' pizza bases and not deep-dish pizza pie crust nor do we use that spam-in-a-can **** that some call 'ham'. There is a world of difference between fresh pineapple and that ring stuff from a can.
We grow pineapples profoundly, just like the Hawai'ians grow our macadamias. Especially in Queensland, where the macadamia came from (bauple nut). There is a kindred spirit in island people, and a love for pineapple.. and coconuts and macadamias. Don't diss the pineapple!
Half of the Australian population would disagree as well, because their ancestry did not involve pizza, or decent cuisine, in which case they simply identify with whatever cuisine they feel comfortable.
Oh, and even between italians, pizza is not pizza - it all depends on where you were born. and the discussion about what constitutes pizza can get very heated...
My wife and I owned a small ice cream parlor a while back and ice cream cup cakes and pizza were huge sellers! You would order it like any pizza with "toppings" and come pick it up. The pizza was basically a flat ice cream cake in a pizza box
I would just remove the pineapple pieces and eat the whole thing. No crisis. Or Id just order without pineapple. That wouldnt be a hawaiian pizza. Brazilian pizza can come in many weird versions. Italians probably think we should die. Thats their problem.
