I wanna tell her that I love her but the point is probably moot.

Was listening to Ten Years After, Good Mornin' Little Schoolgirl, and thought to myself...
    Gee, nobody says "ball" anymore?

Anything from Chicago. They have to win the best-sounding-band-with-the-lousiest-lyrics award. Hey, they spend a whole song asking someone what time it is. :)

That played in my head as I read it. I've listened to that song a million times but never deduced all these strange, yet fascinating lyrics. Thanks for filling in my blanks.

    I smell like a sound
    I’m lost and I’m found
And I’m hungry like the wolf

    Smell like a sound???

If you're smelling sounds or hearing smells, you may want to cut out the LSD..

Here's one, it's not exactly Rock and Roll as we would think of it, but it's probably the worst lyrics I've ever heard outside of The Shaggs, here is The Five Stars, "Atom Bomb Baby" (with lots of gory and humorous Fallout 4 gameplay footage)

Not quite rock here, either, but what the hell is this even about.................:D

I was lying on the grass on Sunday morning of last week
    Indulging in my self-defeat
My mind was thugged all laced and bugged all twisted wrong and beat
    uncomfortable in three feet deep
Now the fuzzy stare from not being there on a confusing morning week
    Impaired my tribal lunar-speak
And of course you can't become if you only say what you would have done
So I missed a million miles of fun

I know it's up for me
    If you steal my sunshine
Making sure I'm not in too deep
    If you steal my sunshine
Keeping versed and on my feet
    If you steal my sunshine

I was frying on the bench slide in the park across the street
    l-a-t-e-r that week
My sticky paws were in to making straws out of big fat slurpy treats
    An incredible eight foot heap
Now the funny glare to pay a gleaming tare in a staring under heat
    Involved an under usual feat
And I'm not only among but I invite who I want to come
So I missed a million miles of fun

I know it's up for me
    If you steal my sunshine
Making sure I'm not in too deep
    If you steal my sunshine
Keeping versed and on my feet
    If you steal my sunshine

I have always believed that "lyrics" are to music, what "nagging" is to marriage. That's why I listen to so much instrumental music.

I believe it refers to a style of shirt from the early 60s....and the points on the female reference is obvious.....

'Starting humming a song from 1962' - what song was it? The Ronettes - Be My Baby (even though it was released in 1963, but his memory was fuzzy)

Any song lyrics that pretty much repeat during the whole song like Red Hot Chili Peppers "Otherside" and "By The Way". Good songs just no creative lyrics.

The lyric that says, "tight pants, points, .. " is about clothing, but then this wondrous line happens:

"Points of her own sittin' way up firm and high".

That ain't talking about her earrings.
