I am doing @fezz parka lead guitar/soloing course
Among the songs I've oddly never played in a band - Black Magic Woman, but more in the Peter Green Fleetwood Mac version. Also have to sit down and learn Bad Things by Jace Everett.
Comping on organ:
Little Martha by the Allman Brothers Band (off Eat a Peach)
Still a few rough spots but it's only been 5 days...
ive been asked to jam with my dads band the next time i go up to see him, so im learning these for now.....
Saturday Night Special -Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is such a fun song to play/learn.
Under the Bridge and Treetop Flyer (figured a version out in dropped D, learning the DADGAD version).
Can't beat a bit of Chuck and Eddie; they take some beating.
Just starting on Samba Pa Ti today. I love the song so it should be fun.
Not a particular song but I’ve been watching videos trying to get a better grasp on NWOBHM and the way the riffs have all that harmonic movement in them. It’s a whole other world than my beloved blues, with the frequent palm muting and downstrokes. It’s a reflexive action to want to go down on the droning string and up on the chord, and let it ring out. Until you get used to it, the rhythm parts in metal are hard to capture just right.
After 15 years and hundreds of guitars I'm actually attempting to learn some easy stuff. Satriani is of course is known for his weedly weedly stuff but many of his songs have very easy to learn parts as well, which is what I'm doing. Thank God for tablature.
