I'm using a Roland space echo right now and still discovering it. I'd like to have a strymon timeline someday, which I think is THE best delay pedal.
I'd love to have an old analog echoplex. Fulltone makes a really nice modern one for too darn much money.
http://www.strymon.net/deco/ I have been looking at these for awhile. It seems to replicate a tapedeck, including all the possible effects.
Seriously - this little Purple gem is a superb sounding authentic Ana Delay pedal as is sooo cheap and small but actually weighs the same as a BOSS unit!
As I probed further into Rowin pedals, I discovered they have a little gold pedal named Tape Echo. Have my heart set on one with a built-in preamp though, such as the Belle Epoch.
I had a real Maestro tube Echoplex, it was minty mint condition, my dad bought it new and rarely ever used it so it stayed in the closet for 40+ years. I sold it to TC Electronics and they used it to model their stuff. Why did I sell it? Because it sucked that's why! The Line 6 DL4 sounded as good, and the Vox Delay Lab sounded as good, with more options. The MXR Carbon Copy didn't sound good at all to me.
