Chanel #19 perfume . . . performer "Exotic Tanna"
100 % on heartbreak been over 30yrs and still feeling it.. Probably doesn't help I keep in touch with her.. Just seen her last Sunday for breakfast. She was more beautiful than ever. At least through my eyes.
I've been around incense many times, but rarely anymore. But, when I smell it somewhere in the air, it immediately takes me back to an event in 1967. I was 14, almost 15, it was summer of '67, right around when school let out. A little group of us budding troublemakers, truants, "longhairs" if you will, when into a nearby "head shop", I thought was pretty cool : blacklights on, posters, rolling papers, beaded jewelry, incense, some records, etc.. The place was always kind of dark and mysterious inside, exotic for me, and usually had incense burning, along with the latest, cool music playing on the record player behind the counter. Long story short, perfect timing, the person working the counter, had just received a copy of the just newly released, unplayed latest Beatles album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. My little group had partaken of a certain precious herb a little earlier, and since business was slow, found a place to sit, and were allowed to pass around the cover and listen to the entire album, with some other customers in the shop. Whoa Nellie, wow, to say the least,...
.... 14 years old, that was a sudden left turn for me, I'll never forget it....Almost always when I first get a whiff of incense, it takes me way back there for a brief moment.
meishka moved to sweden and got fat as hell. dodged that bullet.
and if anyone accuses me of being shallow......youre absolutely correct. i like what i like.
i hate incense with a passion. all it does is remind me of super bad times. doesnt matter what kind it is either.
My scent association: turning 18 (legal drinking age here) I had a blowout party. For three years if someone played anything from the album Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy - I immediately and overwhelmingly smelled Tequila and puke.
I eventually could drink tequila again. Never could touch gin again though.
Yes it was an evening of bad choices.
oh.....i cant even SEE a bottle of night train.
I know what you mean...I was 19, playing cards and drinking. There was a large bet on the table that I couldn't do a "watercooler" chug with a bottle of rum. It went down, I won the bet and in about five minutes it came back out the way it went in only a lot faster. To this day I will not drink rum!
that night train got me thrown in jail twice in one week. well, it wasnt the night train....it was the choices i made after drinking it. bad bad stuff.
I can smell smells and taste tastes by thinking about them.
But Channel No 5 has no equal at close range, except maybe pizza from Bill's Pub being served by a waitress wearing Channel No 5. !
Nite Train and Crazy Horse Malt liquor will melt Kryptonite, that stuff is death in a bottle.
#5 is rather special to me as well!
Emereaude perfume always reminds me of the first milf I ever knew, before milf was a thing.
Yeah, I was a "milf" guy too until I was about 35. These days I like them younger but nothing much under 50!
For me it's the scent of patchouli and a particular special girl.
Won’t somebody think of the children!
Sadly I’m getting to the age where a scent that should trigger a fond memory, only triggers pleasants feeling about something that I can’t remember.
Sometimes I smell things that aren’t there. I don’t worry about it too much though. I figure its just “mini” strokes...
