Which Muff sounds most like Gilmour's CN solo?

I’m only basing this off demos but I’m a huge Gilmour nerd so take this with a grain of salt but of the EH offerings the new Triangle Sounds pretty hot. Another pedal I was looking at is the Animals Pedals Rust Rod which is an affordable Rams Head clone designed by Skreddy. I think there is a Skreddy version as well so that would expand the amount of demos you can find. Good lucky. I’d like to see what you go with.

Chont pretty much nailed it. The new reissue muff is pretty good. For $100, you can’t go wrong. Gilmour also uses a tube driver in front of the muff to boost the signal going into it. This makes the muff sound so much better. Kit Rae has a nice site, but Bjorn’s Gilmourish site is much better.

As mentioned check Gilmourish. He reviews a lot of pedals in the David Gilmour context including many playing CN licks and parts.

I’m hoping and praying EH reissues the Rams Head. Holding out for that.

I’m sure they will. There’s no shortage of willingness to make more pedals at EH

I think they will too. There’s certainly a market for it and they seem to be on a tear with Muff reissues.

Seeing a plethora of clones over the years taking their business away would be a big motivation.

I have a Stomp Under Foot Violet Menace that is awesome.
Matt at SUF can certainly help you out.
He is very responsive and makes fantastic pedals.
Almost all of his pedals are Big Muff variants and he knows them well.
I also have a regular Nano Big Muff that I love.
You can’t go wrong with EHX.
    Great stuff imho....!

Gilmourish links you out to the Kit Rae site when you click on the hyperlink for Gilmour’s Big Muff Pedals.

I think I’m going to go with the new Big Muff Triangle Pi (embarrassingly had to say that to a female guitar store employee today). “Excuse me, do you have a big muff, preferably the triangle pie one?” They were out of stock. Apparently it’s a big seller.

E-mail Marc at Skreddy. He’s a huge Gilmore fan and Muff expert. The ?Lady he built for years ago is still the best Muff I ever heard.... and it’s mine.

So it’s the P19 from Skreddy. Great pedal but I think the BMP gets me closer to the tones I want.

IMHO, it ain't a pedal that is gonna make you sound like Gilmour. You can either pull it off with what you got, or you need to practice more.
