I have a 73 strat with dated 70 pickups and serial number 553xxx those numbers range for 73 as well. See this chart attached. Fender did all kinds of stuff. Not unreasonable for a 74 to have a 72 neck, they were in piles is a guess.
Decked for sure no other way! Been playing vintage strats for many years! Floating you run the risk of intonation issues although some like it that way...I have 2 vintage strats and I have them both decked but but not super tight just enough to keep it down so I can you the bar and the tuning...
I am trying to find a 72/73 chunky rosewood strat neck. My strat is a 73 with a 79 neck. my neck on i t now is very chunky and somewhat flamey...So was trying to find a 72/73 neck for it to match the body.
1979 Fender Stratocaster rosewood neck w/ tuners only! $1650 + shipping. Very clean. Chunky too for a 79 neck! NOT a thin neck!
Hate to sell it but I want the correct year neck for my 73 strat.
VERY nice condition. Has some flame in it. Nice finish. play amazing!
Frets a few years ago leveled...
ok so they do not fit then. I was told that today. So When I sell my 79 neck lll leave have to leave the tuners and ferrules. I cannot use them then it sounds like.
Hey All,
Question, Will tuners and ferrules from a 1979 Fender Stratocaster neck work on a 72 Strat neck? I was told no, that they would not.?? Why do they not fit? Is it that ferrule holes are not the same size, too small? Let me know thanks!
Also, I am actively looking for a 1971-73 original...
Ya for sure! I just want this for me and if I ever did sell it I was always disclose something like that but my intent is a player vintage strat ot keep! my 73 already sounds amazing just want the correct year neck 72/73 on it. Not sure i should even mess with it really lol. But I want a more...
Oh ya for sure and being honest for sure as well. It will be a keeper for me anyway I would rather have the vintage stuff for sure even if the neck was not married to the guitar original as long as the years are right and correct for it. Even high dollar strats we really would not know for sure...
