G'Day from Australia.. I notice that you are located in Portland. Do you see much 'Univox' stuff around there. i am a great fan of the Univox Guitars and Amps. Just thought you might like to check them out if you haven't already.

I've got a lot of jacks, and plenty of pots, too. basically any innard to a guitar, I have a ton of. I have a black humbucker tele bridge, a string-thru or top loading 6 or 12 string tele bridge as well. I also have a Fishman Tele Powerbridge, it is installed on my tele copy, but if you wanted to buy it, I'd sell it, probably. It sounds just like an acoustic.

And an extra tele copy body, a tele bridge hotrail-creme colored, a regular single coil tele bridge pickup, and a black tele pickguard. I think I've used up both of the lipstick pickups, though.

I use some wood working chisels and a router with different bits. The good tools are expensive, but worth it in the long run. As for painting you're pretty much right, I paint the carved part first, sand and then I mask off the carved portion and paint again. The whole process takes a while, but like anything else you'll get better with practice.
