Hi machocr, the toasticaster was white when I bought it, it's a non Fender body that I tried to strip using a heat gun and ended up scorching rather badly, at which point I deceided to keep it like that and just sealed it with a light coat of tung oil to stop it warping. Heat guns are dangerous round guitars as the top coat comes off easy enough but the sealer coat tends to pop off in little spots and there's a chance it could hit your eyes, goggles are a must! also too much heat can melt the glue holding the body sections together and the whole thing can fall to pieces. The best art is how the guitar feels afterwards, very resonant and light with no chance it will slide off your knee as the wood tends to be more matt than the paint was. For a unique looking guitar it's certainly an option as you can really darken the wood with the heat without burning it to charcoal. Good luck! - Pete
