So...write about myself, OK. This forum is my one and only social media (I guess I can call it social media?), effort. Though doing so most clearly violates my strict "separation of myself and social media policy".

I first started playing when I was nineteen I guess. Inspired by a close friend who was and remains ridiculously gifted. So I hacked at it for a few years, became frustrated and hung it up by the time I was 28. Married, real job, kids...you know the drill. Sold or otherwise parted with a Lotus Strat copy, a Washburn 200, a Dan Armstrong lucite guitar, and a 72' Tele Custom. In 1999 I got the itch and bought a Takamanie 341SC Steve Warner Custom. Great acoustic, still have it. Didn't play it much after a year or so...life went on. After rekindling my aged friendship with my ridiculously gifted friend from 40 or so years ago it happened again. He had kept that 72 Tele Custom that I parted with all those years ago. Yeah ya right (no, I'm not from Norlins but did stay in a motel 6 there a few nights) I asked him if he wanted to part with it...he laughed spit his iced tea all over the coffee table and said no. Well, truth is it didn't go down quite like that but you get the drift. Just for the record I would have been less than enthusiastic about selling it back too. Matter of fact, I probably would have spit my iced tea all over the coffee table. Truth is that Tele remains in the rightful hands. I'm very happy he still has it and loves it. So, trying to shorten this up...bought a Tele HH, discovered I love it and set out to research and spec out the real Strat I always wanted. After three months of tireless research that included more than a couple sleepless nights it came down to a Warmouth build, or a Custom Shop order during a worldwide pandemic. But then it happened...I found a GT11 Custom Shop Strat NOS that was nearly dead nut centered up for the specs I had dreamed up. After two days of deep consideration I placed the order. It should be in Monday...three days from now. To put it in 70's HB venacular...DUDE I'M STOKED!!! By the way...the coolest thing about this forum so far is that autocorrect doesn't seem to replace the word Strat with the word Start. Anyway...I'm hoping to learn, make some new friends and enjoy some higher guitarism. Cheers
