The first sentence of the article says that the first MIK's were produced under the Fender brand then "immediateley after under the squier brand.

Looking at the drill holes I'd say there were squier bullet tuners on at one point

Didn't know squier made some with plywood bodies. So this could be a squier body with an early (late 70's?) mim neck.
The frets are worn down. looks like they had several leveling jobs and now just need replacing.
The neck is pretty old. The frets are well worn and these are the 4th set of tuners based on drill holes. I was thinking of refinishing the neck...
Yeah. Weird. I thought maybe it said made in Japan or something under the logo and someone wanted to pass it off as made in America.
