  • I own a 72 Thinline Tele which is similar but semi hollow...not quite a Gibson sound but a cool guitar...think fatter Fender.
Are you refering to the 70s reissue Tele deluxe?I never owned one but they're cool...not a traditional Tele but really it's own thing.

Yes, that's it exactly. Seems you can get pretty good LP / SG tones but in a Tele body form. And knowing that you cover a lot of ground and sounds in your typical set, I wondered if you ever used one?
Hey Sonny, and HNY to you! Hope you're doing well.... Hey I wanted to get your thoughts on the Tele Deluxe (HH). Have you owned one? If so how did it fit into your arsenal?
Hey Sonny - you back playing live? Imagine COVID set you guys back a couple of months....

Started gigging but things are still slow...people not going out as much yet.
I bought a 2018 Blues Deluxe...it sounds warmer than my old one which was harsher.Fender tweaked the recent ones to sound warmer.

Ah, good to know..... I've got one of those on my wish list. After another Strat of course.
I'm also curious to try the Deluxe Reverb ToneMasters that have just come out.
Sonny - a year or two back I thought I saw you playing through a Tweed Twin, but below i'm seeing a Blues Deluxe in your description of your rig setup.
Are you using both, depending on the size of venue, or have you switched from the Twin to the Deluxe?
Great seeing you the other night Sonny! You and the boys put on a fabulous show at the Bat Bar.

    Yeah man...catch you next time!!
Nice setup. Simple, clean and ya gotta have a wah!
That Jensen is really honkin in those vids. Great stuff.
    Thanks for the low down
Hey Sonny, I tried looking at your myspace and facebook sites (I don't have an account) and TDPRI, before I bothered you with a question you probably get asked alot but I failed.
Just wanted to know what kinda rig you're playing thru.
Gotta great Texas sound no doubt.

I use a tweed Fender Blues Deluxe with a Jensen alnico P12N upgrade in the clean channel.Basic settings are volume 2-3,treble 5,mid 8,bass 2,presence 6.Reverb and bright switch off.Ibanez 808 TS reissue pedal for overdrive always turned on...volume set even with amp,EQ at 2 o'clock, drive on full.Vox wah and Boss tuner.
Sonny - I read your post on the new American Vintage Reissue '59 Strat. I have a tough time setting these up where the G and D don't buzz - open or fretted. What is the best way to set up? How much neck relief do you need? Then, ever measured your action or just by feel. I have had the same difficulty with older '62 reissues. '59 - String w 10s. It came with a flat (no relief) neck adjustment. Have it set at 0.010 so far but still some buzz. Also, this model (mine) is not as jangly/is duller (as the earlier versions) in the 2 and 4 toggle positions - that normal? Thanks.
Nice....I really like the color. It is not same 59 reissue like mine though.Yours is a modernised version.Cool guitar!
Hey, I went by Hardtails here in Georgetown (a friend of mine plays bass with a band there sometimes and I was seeing if he was on the schedule). I saw a Sonny Wolf on the schedule in a couple weeks. Is that you?
    Hey Sonny
I see you have more than a few Road Worns. I'm tweaking my 50's RW Strat and trying to determine the best Trem unit for this guitar. I'm thinking Callaham. Do you know what size/description tremolo that would fit the RW Strat?
