SMH... A youtube comment.... there's your first 10 mistakes right there...
The saddles on every Strat ever made will move when string tension is removed. They go right back when you string it up. This is EPIC nonesense.
I have a Custom Tones Ethos TWE-1 that is pretty damn good. Pretty much the full range of gain is available and usable. The EQ is flexible. That would be my first option. I have others on the board and use them for variety and flavor when recording but I could get by with just the TWE-1. It also...
I have built a number of instruments for myself an others over the years. Always used Warmoth parts and heve never had an issue with anything to date. Neck and body for a VH homage showed up a while back. Weather should allow painting to commence on that shortly..
Well, that really depends on how we are defining terms... If a pro jr gets it done for you, then sure...there are lots of options in that price range. If you need 2 channels, a loop etc then I am not sure that is possible for 5 bills
If those are my options, I would take a $500 guitar and a $2k amp every time. You can find a lot of guitar for 5 bills, even these days. With a little know how, you can get even more. The amps are a little trickier to find the combo of sounds I would want in one amp.
Like others have said...
Yes, it would be cheaper if I need to buy an area. Space for the coil is my bigger concern. There is not a lot of extra real estate in there without routing
Remove that damn treble bleed. I have been down this road several times experimenting with treble bleed setups and they always caused this problem. I don't care who says otherwise. Treble bleed circuits mess with the sound.
Use a LP 50's wiring if you need more treble when you roll the volume...
The engineer in me would say record it dry. The reality is that amps, pedals etc have a sound that the engineer simply cannot reproduce with studio gear
