For my own purposes, there's nothing that i can do on a portastudio
that i can't do faster, easier, and better with a DAW.
And there are things one can do with a DAW like Ableton that a portastudio
can't possibly come close to.
That does take a lot of time to learn and master, but then so...
Not in my neck of the woods.
And at legal speeds (or thereabouts, LOL), my little dog and i
are quite happy with the car i've got.
As for guitars, playing a .strandberg* took care of my desire to
own a vintage Strat.
It's so weird how some foods are perfectly OK for humans, but incredibly toxic to certain animals.
For example, dogs should not eat chocolate, onions, or grapes and raisins (among other things).
Sorry to hear about your rabbit.
LOL... it's not a zombie thread.
It's a continuing epic saga.
... and since you mentioned YKMHO:
No Zombies, just some Vanilla Fudge.
For a bit of recovery after that, here's something else fa ya:
It's STandards Sunday again!
Grab a nice latte or a mimosa, because it's time for another runthrough of

Thanks so much for listening and for your kind comments.
My setup is quite simple nowadays.
i'm going from the instrument into an HX Stomp digital modeler
for FX and amp/cab sims, then to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and from
that into a DAW, either GarageBand, Logic, or Ableton.
As for learning...
Ted Greene, Ed Bickert, and Tim Lerch are three jazz people i hold dear to my heart
who are known as Telecaster players.
Here are a few jazz tunes i did with one of mine:
There was a time when i wasn't interested in playing anything other than a Les Paul.
i've branched out quite a bit since...
