I’ve got a set of these in one of my strats, and I haven’t pulled them out in almost 10 years. I would like to try them in another guitar, but I really think it’s a combination of the particular guitar that has a very woody tone, and the pick ups bring out a lot of the resonance. Would be...
Absolutely. I weigh them all, and will only keep a strat that weighs as close to 7lbs as possible. That’s the sweet spot for me. Some people don’t care, but I like ‘em light.
I’m have a set of Fralins that I’m putting in a strat I’m building and am looking at prewired harnesses (I’ve used harnesses from Mojotone, Emerson, Lollar), and I found a company called Obsidian that has a prewired harness with a blender pot instead of the 2nd tone control. Thoughts...
Anyone using one of these to rehearse with a band? Starting a side band and don’t want to carry everything from one rehearsal space to another. Having the Super Champ would be super convenient (excuse the pun). Never played with this drummer before, so I can’t say if he’s heavy handed or not...
I’ve got an opportunity to pickup a used 2019 American Professional Tele, butterscotch blonde with a maple neck. I haven’t bought an off-the-shelf Fender in quite a while because I’ve struggled to find one with a neck shape they particularly like. They’re usually way too thin. This particular...
I would say it’s the reverse for me. I’ve been very happy with most online amp purchases...YouTube videos (although not always) are very helpful in giving me an idea what to expect.
But when it’s a guitar, there are intangibles you can’t predict...a guitar has to “feel right”, and there is a lot...
In 27 years, I’ve played good strats and bad strats. I’ve held and owned light ones that played terrible, I’ve had heavy ones that were divine. But when you find one that is light, resonant, and a tone monster, it’s a win win. I’ve got 3 in the 7lb or less range and they are magic.
Just my...
Same here. I love the look of maple, but prefer the feel of rosewood. This one was calling my name though. Had to have it.

Played it for 5 min before heading back to work...kind of surprised that the neck is glossier than I expected it to be. I think I might have to put some steel wool to the back.

I haven’t bought an “off the shelf” Fender since 2013. I’ve had a few guitars built by MJT bought a new LP, traded an SG for a PRS, but that’s about it...no Fenders. I saw this one on Gear Talk Classifieds on Facebook, and had to have it. I had a 2000 American Series in the exact same...
The Blues Jr, regular or tweed, is awesome. I’ve owned both.
That being said, you can have the volume pot replaced on the HR Deluxe to have a more gradual sweep. I had it done to my Deville and it was great. Very inexpensive mod, and it gets you better volume control that isn’t as sensitive...
I love blue guitars. Here is my Classic Player 60’s strat in sonic blue that I regretfully sold awhile back. Still miss it.

Best smelling guitar amp you’ll ever own!
Joking, but serious. I bought one back in 2011, and cranked that bad boy up the day I brought it home, and I could smell those new tubes cooking...it was glorious!

Gonna be honest...the Egnater Tweaker 40 is a cool amp. I can’t say how road worthy it is, since I never gigged with one, but before I became a boutique snob I owned one, and was really impressed with it. No reverb, but I plugged a reverb pedal into the effects loop and it was great. Seriously...
