Fender Strat QC ? American Original series

Exactly. I saw one crack right before my eyes. All I did was loosen the screws. Was not on a tight neck pocket either.

Fender Strat QC ? American Original series

Gaps in the neck pocket are not going to prevent neck cracks. It might help. I have seen plenty of guitars with gaps that still have neck cracks. Take a look at some 70`s strats that are known for sloppy neck joints, sure enough cracks.

    Replacing player pups

IMO your only going to get so far adjusting pickup heights. It's going to balance pickups, produce a little more/less output. There is a sweet spot with heights but it ends there. It's still the same pickup

    Eric Johnson Strat(s)

Yah the EJ has jumped 500 in price during the pandemic. Great guitars. The rosewood is my favorite. Quality is great. I haven't really noticed the stiffness but have experienced the sticky neck. Goes away in time

Did Fender offer any nitro-finished Strats outside of AVRI in the late 90s?

The neck looks like a legit AVRI. Like intunes said maybe your acetone isn't strong enough to dissolve the finish. MIM classic would show evidence of a removed serial

1971 Olympic White with black undercoat - original finish or re-finished?

Parskie admitted to knowing absolutely nothing about fender finishes back in February now he is schooling us. One guy on the gear page made a speculation that the paint sticks on Both sides were normal. A speculation he stated. Parskie ran with this speculation and is still running. The thing is...

Yep still waiting for OP to provide another original finished early 70s guitar with a neck pocket that looks like his, a pic on a late 70s missing paint in the rear tremolo cavity.

    Hi, which model is this

It's the first generation highway one so the finish is acrylic lacquer not nitro

    Hi, which model is this

Yes the highway one was considered a cheaper version at the time. Kinda like today comparing the American pro to the American Performer

How about YOU show another factory finished early 70s guitar with paint in the neck pocket on both sides, bare wood in the tremolo cavity and bare wood from what you claim was from masking tape.
