    Am I wrong?

The nut slots don't make any difference to neck relief, that will remain the same even if you take the nut off completely. The nut slots alter the action height, just like the saddles do. I don't measure anything, but I've been doing this stuff for over 50 years now.

    I quit because it’s too loud….got me thinking…

I gave up loud in the 1980s. If we couldn't hear our bandmates talk on stage then we were too loud. It wasn't usually the drummer, but the lead guitarists (yes, we had several that got their marching orders).

Ever wonder what your neighbors think?

I think I have a clue... My neighbours called the police when I was playing my acoustic, indoors, doors and windows closed.

    Finger Painting.

I'll have a pop at it if I get a chance.

    Who are these for?????

I just report them when I see them, then never see them again. No other forum I know of allows newly registered members to spam so easily.

Off to urgent care this morning.

I became allergic to the detergent that we'd used for years with no problems when they introduced a "new improved formula".

Show us your most expensive guitar

Going by the cost when I bought it compared to what things cost today, £350 in 1995 is probably the most expensive when new... I wouldn't part with it for any amount of money.

Sustained direct losses from S-T advice. Where to file the claim?

Nice to know that the stupid people still hang out here. Back off to TDPRI now. * waves *

    Tell Me About Mandolins

Chris Leslie... The mandolin is a great instrument. You do have to pay a decent amount of money for a playable one though. If it's a bit small the mandola or "Irish" bouzouki might fit the bill.

    Happy birthday @Mansonienne

A bit late, but happy birthday Andrea.

    Maple neck refinishing.

I'd try scraping the neck very gently with the grain to remove the finish rather than sanding. The Halfords alloy wheel lacquer has been recommended a few times. It's not supposed to yellow, unlike their standard gloss which turns an incredibly bright shade of yellow (not at all attractive on a...

Does bang for the buck figure into whether or not you purchase a particular guitar?

MY CV 50s Tele is the same, my Epiphone Les Paul 50s is quite spiffy too. :)

Request for finding out value of Strat

It's not a vintage style ST62. Its an ST362 Japanese Standard, from 1986-7. The modern tuners and serial number on the headstock are the main indicators. Prices pre-lurgy stupidity were about €500, what people are charging now is ridiculous.
