Makes sense … but why didn’t the seller just sell the guitar with it left on and charge a little extra. ? I would definitely NOT like buying a guitar with 2 drill holes in it where a Bigsby Used to be
They need to be careful… so they get a good price for it. That guitar needs a super dollar amount due to its condition. I’m afraid too many people even dealers EVEN Reverb will try to get something for nothing. I would trust. No one. All dealers will buy a guitar like that for 10 grand or...
Just out of curiosity…. and I am not trying to snoop…. but I really enjoy reminiscing about the past …. such as the price of gasoline in the early 60’s and the prices of homes and cars back then as well.
I see the sales slip in the photos but cannot quite make it out. Would you mind saying...
I started buying guitars in 1973. But I traded and sold most. In 1991 I had just 4 guitars. 2 Strats a Les Paul. And a Peavey guitar. Then in 2005 an old aquaintance of mine from the 80’s called me up and asked me if I wanted to get in a band with him. And here I am 3 different bands since then...
You’re off to a great start. Keep going. Can’t be considered a hobby until ya get around 50. And an obsession past 100 I haven’t reached the obsession mark yet
I have been looking for a paisley pink tele for years. Seen a few. I’ve had a strat like that for 30 years just looking to get a matching tele maybe one day.
Wow that sounds like a great find. Any Fender prior to 1965 is worth quite a bit. I would not recommend a guitar shop since shops are out to make a profit. You may find one that will give you a true estimate of its value though. Otherwise you can get on E-bay and type in the year and model...
I have had a Clapton Blackie American made strat since ‘91. Mine just has the alnico pick ups. But over the years I have found I prefer HSS Strats. So I have been playing. Only. HSS. Strats for years. The difference in price between a Clapton strat and an MIM tele is probably over a grand...
I guess what they call it is “bias ing”. Any time you change tubes you need to make sure the tubes you replace the old ones with are set to the same bias or frequency load handling as the rest or you can get an unevenness in load capacity in the tubes which according to what I have read can be a...
You can have a frequency test done to make sure they are “in tune”. I had a tube blow in one of my amps years ago and when I thought the amp just needed a new tube .. the tech said he did a wavelength test to make sure all the tubes were responding in series properly. He said sometimes when...
Nice guitars. I have some Fenders with rosewood necks. But my preference is maple necks on Fenders. I prefer to leave the rosewood necks to my Gibsons and Ibanezes.
Tort would be awesome. I can totally see it surrounded by the rosewood and white. But the one that is on there looks good cuz it definitely gives the guitar color symmetry. Tough choice … for sure…. as I think either would look good for different reasons.
I had a similar issue with a used tube amp I bought years ago. Then one day I was practicing at home and I heard a loud POP. From the back of the amp. A tube had blown so I took it to a local shop had a new tube installed and the tech there said he adjusted the tube frequencies. They were out...
I understand what you are saying ...I guess I just had trouble trying to comprehend something as obvious as the S-1 button.... did it seem obscure to you when you finally had it in your hands.?.. I was not under the impression that Fender was trying to hide this switch in anyway...only to make...
