That to me looks like swamp ash. Alder has a subtle red hue and has a much tighter grain pattern.
That is indeed a great colour......, and would look amazing with a gold anodised guard.
AND....., he wants £1,599 (~$2170US) for it!
Fender can charge what they like, and buyers are free to pay whatever their wallets and bank accounts dictate but personally I think Fender are...
