In a web page ads are published this stratocaster apparently American, I am a beginner in the field of electric guitar so I would like to have the opinion of experts. The scarcity of the publication is the price 100 dollars. ¿Is a fake stratocaster?:?:

It's a lefty, which always makes it funky to us right handers! Visually, it'll always look "off", even though it's just different! But it looks OK to me, but if they are selling it for $100, that's a scam. Be very careful!

I don't see any smoking guns for fakeness from the pics... However the pics are of such bad quality that doesn't mean a lot... ALSO, it is entirely possible that the pics are not of the actual guitar for sale. Wouldn't be the first time someone ran an ad with legit pics and when time came to make the sale it wasn't the same guitar as the pics. FWIW, the Chinese fakes from what I've read are getting a lot better, so they may have corrected a lot of the obvious clues that gave away their earlier attempts. And if it does happen to be a legit American Standard... at that price I'd be really worried it was stolen.

Any way you look at it... if something seems to good to be true, it usually is, one way or another.

Like mentioned, to a right handed player the lefties always look weird, but I have to say that it looks legit to me. The pics arent the best but the only thing that looks to be off is the price. Not that there arent a few people out there that really did get a guitar from a family member that passed or some other reason and they just dont have a clue what they have. It doesnt happen every day but it does happen. I would be careful with the deal though. You never know, maybe it is one of those folks that just dont know what they have.

Ask the owner if you can open it up ! Take a look at the pups and pots, routing, and wire connections. That will tell you alot if they say "NO"......But, for $100 I would take a shot !

My theory is this: The picture was stolen from a web site and is a real American strat. The guitar you go to see will be an obvious non-Fender. Turn the guitar over. If the 2 middle trem cover screws are not staggered, it's not a Fender anything. Maybe Squier, but definately not Fender US or Mex.

Nobody is selling a US Strat for $100. Come on.

Come to think of it, they probably won't let you come see it and will "include" shipping. Just Western Union them the money and they'll ship it. Watch your money disappear.

The picture seems legit. Where is this ad posted?
It has to be a scam of some sort or it would have sold in 5 minutes in any country in the world.

I too thought the head stock looked odd.....until:

    I looked at mine!!!!

Most likely a 90's MIA strat...if you have the opportunity to check it out, I would do so asap.

    Good Luck

Seen this so many time guys never give money online or wire money to random people you never met. They don't live in your country and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Even if the guitar is fake it's pretty nice for $100. If it even exists...

Left handed guitars look ugly at best no matter the model but aside from its deformity it looks to be legit.
