Are you asking a question? I don't understand....
Old school Slayer \m/
Bang on my Metal Brother
That strat just got raped
Love me some old-school Slayer \m/
No i just posted so if someone searches here if a strat can do metal and wonder if he/she should buy something else to "fit" his/her music he /she will see this and know every music can be plyed in any guitar(i asked you helped me so now its my turn )
The guy is a beast...(its not me )
Yeap and she liked it...this guy even does take no prisoners on a strat...
Wait, that's not you?
No...i wish i could play like that....i just browsed you tube.for slayer covers to practice (i dont like reading tabs i am more of a watch ant try guy)I saw this one and was like WTF...)I thought i d share this.plus i was on the fence for strat/metal and this is for one to see that the guitar doesnt matter much. And Strats rule!
What are the pickups though? They don't look like stock strat ones. Not saying that means you can't play metal on one, but it will affect the sound.
RIGHT i was thinking about floyd rose and flat radius
yeah they look like emg types or something.
yep, metal has been played on modded strats.. as long as metal has been played.
and speaking of white guitars with black pickups, even pre-metal "metal" like Deep purple was played on strats.
Seems like many metal guitars have more in common with a strat than a les paul or SG, besides the pickups.
I did a "survey" for my self regarding NWOBHM guitars. All players had humbuckers in the bridge except Peter Brabbs from Tank (and then there is Raven and Vardis but they played Teles)My best friend plays in aband called Steamroller Assault with aLes Paul and he is starting to not enjoy the weight playing 90 m gigs anymore
I'm disappointed in this thread, it doesn't live up to what it promises in the title. I thought it would be about guitars like this.
This one is for sale near me. More than I'd like to spend on a single guitar though...

The Strat can be used for metal with the right pickups.
Personally, I suggest going with a “super Strat” style guitar for metal. Charvel, ESP, Jackson, Ibanez, etc. They are designed for metal. They have flatter fretboard radius, higher output pickups and double locking tremolo systems.
I put my Superstat together with parts from Guitarfetish.
- Lil killer hum buckers
- Super Strat kit
Sounds awesome! Strats can do metal, and do it well!
