Going to be doing some changes to this fiesta red Strat. I have a neck and loaded PG from a classic series 50s Strat I can put on it, or a classic series 60s neck on it and do mint green.

I’m paring down my strats to where I hopefully get 5-6 great ones instead of a bunch of pieces.
    What do you think?!?

Another vote to leave it - it's perfect as-is......mint green on red looks like Christmas to me, all kinds of wrong.....

I'd keep it as it is , if anything use the mint green , in my last three guitar purchases they were all used guitars , one rule I abide by is the guitar should be in it's original state with no 'upgrades' , I always found it best to leave well alone , otherwise you just end up with a bastard guitar , nobody wants that !!

On the assumption that's the cs60s neck on it now I'd just pop a '62 pattern mint guard on it and call it done.

Yep it is the CS60s neck on there right now.

my CS50s body had some damage so the rest of that guitar will be looking for a new body too. Got lots of options for sure.

Fiesta Red is a '60s color, so I'd stick with rosewood board and 3-ply pickguard for this body.

Thanks for the input everybody. I’ll likely keep it as-is or consider a plastics change, and find a different body for the CS50s.

The 60s neck is already attached anyways, and it plays well.

If mint green on Fiesta red is wrong...then I don't want to be right ;) Merry Christmas!

I’ve never liked custom colors on 50s style strats (I guess cause it never really happened much in the 50s). Black might be the exception. To me fiesta red belongs with rosewood

This looks great either way, but I'm not a fan of the white plastic parts with mint green PG. I'd swap the white covers/knobs/switch for the aged ones in your original pics.
