Side convo: I am not sure about you but that moon last night is the kind that people write songs about and photographers should be staying up til daylight to shoot. Just gorgeous.

That’s what I thought too! At around midnight last night, my backyard was like a fairytale setting: Lit by the moon and a really nice breeze going, not too cold, just enough to enjoy the atmosphere from the open window… Lovely :)

If it's legit, it's a refin, and the saddles are not original.

I’m not one to judge a book by it’s cover but man is that Axel Rose? There’s a reason why it’s still available at $10k.

Why are you certain it's a refin? I can't see the saddles well enough to tell but they do look a little big maybe? The truss plug might be a little light colored. I'm not seeing a whole lot that says it isn't a 50's broadcaster to be honest. That said, I have no doubt something fishy is going on.

Edit. After a closer look, the logo looks too straight

Have you ever seen any clear lacquer finished broadcasters?

Broadcasters were blond, not natural clear coat. And those look like steel saddles. They should be brass.

Good info. I wasn't aware they were only available in butterscotch. I learned something today. :)
Shouldn't it also say "broadcaster" under the Fender logo?

I understand it should, but on that picture it's not clear if the blur under the logo is wood grain/stain or the broadcaster part of the logo... I couldn't conclude when I zoomed in...

Wow that guitar is very cool! Relic for sure. That neck misalignment is charming.
