Hey, I have a VOX 15 watt night train and a nice pine cab. I bought what I thought was a 12" 30 watt 15 ohm British made greenback for it, but realized it's actually a 20 watt 8 ohm British made greenback. Can I crank this thing without blowing it or should I get the speaker with 50% more wattage and double impedance? Ohms I'm not horribly worried about as I would mic the cab if I needed it louder, but I want to crank it every now and then and don't want to blow it.

Well, there is nothing wrong with your cab as soon as you match the impedance. Just connect the NT using 8 ohm (you should avoid a mismatch). Remember that the original NT cabinet is a 25w Greenback, so crank it as you wish :)

If I toss my waza craft blues driver in front of it will I risk blowing it? Should I send this 20 watter back and get the 30 watt/15 ohm speaker? What would you good people do?

Send it back. Patience is a virtue, and it will be right in the long run. Putting an 8 ohm speaker in will wear out your tubes faster.

By the way, I've owned tons of great amps, some pretty expensive, but the Night Train would be my 'desert island' amp, if I could only have one.

I looked for the Night Train before getting my current Vox amp, and I've noticed that it's still featured on the company's website. Why was it discontinued?

I have no idea why it's been discontinued. It's fantastic. But getting a vox cabinet to match the head is next to impossible, hence my build. I got the British made speaker instead of the Chinese one that vox included standard, so I'm hoping it will truly be upgraded.

One more question, the speaker is 15 ohms, and the output of the night train is 16 ohms. Will this be a problem or not?

I have one and it has both an 8 and a 16 ohm jack so the ohm load shouldn't be a problem.
    and
    A 5 or 15 watt selection
    And
What the heck if ya blow out the driver.
    You're doing it right.
