Not aiming it at anyone, really just musing aloud that we are in a place where we start talking about investment value of certain models

Only two things I have I look at as investments my MIB wheeljack (just for you Malikon) and my complete run of Barry Allan Flash comics. Everything else is used for what it meant.

Wow! You certainly have a beautiful SRV! Love that neck .... My 2000 SRV Below
has a pretty light colored Pao Ferro neck. I love the grain! I guess I was lucky
as the TS pickups in mine sound Great! Sounds like some of you had some issues
    with your TSpecials.

I love mine, definately in the top 5 of my favorite Strats that I have...

    Take care!

    Terry

    Brazilian or Pao Ferro??

Hey guys, I'm considering the purchase of an early SRV strat (serial # SE 906784); however, I can't tell if the fretboard is Brazilian RW or just darkened, aged Pao Ferro. The neck is stamped March 17, 1992. Can you guys give me your opinion. The serial is very close to Talkis61's SRV and his was Pao Ferro; however, there are higher serial numbers that have actually been Brazilian.

It don't look right to me. Like someone colored the Pao Fero or something.. The grain is running to straight down the neck. It should be shiney too not dull. Here are some iPhone picks of mine.

    hope this helps

Be sure and go to your local guitar store and play a new one. Just to get a feel if it's right for you. I played one. It's not for everybody.

Bassman1981 has very kindly put up many (most) of the Fender catalog pdfs
    http://fcat.no/

Page 10 Frontline vol 6 (1992) mentions Brazilian Rosewood on the SRV

I owned a 1992 with a Brazilian (I think) board about 8-10 years ago. I believe that I paid around $1200 at the time. Bought it online through GC Used Gear.

For real. He comes in and revives a bunch of zombie threads and acts like a douche. Who is this guy?
