    Hi All,

Long time since I have been on this forum. Its been so long I had to re-create a new user. Glad to be back.

I just acquired this Strat. Its a 1993 Custom Shop Serial # 31 of 36. I believe its a custom classic. I wanted to post some pics to perhaps get some feedback from the community on your thoughts of this beautiful Strat. I had some unknowns such as the lack of custom shop stickers on pickups and build names on the neck and body. Any insight on would be much appreciated. I am going to reach our to Fender CS as well to see what other info could be found.

Tuners like that are usually on a "Deluxe" model if I'm not mistaken

Not surprised you find those pups hot.
If I'm not mistaken they are the Texas Specials.
Recognisable by the red and blue dots.

You probably won't get any help from Fender's customer service, their records are minimal or non-existent prior to 1994. I know - it's hard to believe that even the Custom Shop didn't keep proper records back then! Shameful really.

It's also a great shame that the descriptions on many of the certificates is so unhelpful. "Custom Stratocaster". Right, OK - thanks for that Fender, that's really helpful......

When you say that the certificate was "re-printed", what do you mean by that?

I would also assume that it's a Custom Classic, which is basically just an American Standard made in the Custom Shop. The fact that the pickups have no stamps or labels doesn't tell us anything useful. What is curious is that the neck has CS decal no. 1 on the neck butt but CS decal no. 2 on the headstock. I don't recall seeing that before.

Yeah, shameful indeed they didnt keep better records back then. The original COA was lost and reprinted in 2012.

That is an interesting observation about the CS decals, thank you. You would think they would be matching. Hmmm. More homework to do.

Very nice, good luck - enjoy! Also not sure what you mean by re- printed COA! Did you make a copy of the original? Or something like that!

Nice Strat!!! I'm diggin' those tuners. I'm usually not fan of gold hardware, but it works on that guitar.

Thanks! Yeah, neither am I. But they do look nice. There is quite a bit of tarnish and age showing on the hardware so definitely gives it a unique, aged look.
