I would not buy it until some of the experts on here can confirm for you its a real custom shop. I find this closeup of the headstock troubling Screenshot_20210815-131613.png

Nothing troubling with what a 65 custom shop Strat headstock looks like. The guitar looks great and I don’t see anything fake or wrong with it.

Like these 2 authentic 65 Strat’s 8D38F127-C260-467A-B3D6-FF0007ADB04F.png 18BABA54-3214-46D2-9C02-149CF69EEB43.png here’s the one in question. The only thing that looks off is the placement of the decal or the string tree itself. These are done by hand so they’re never in exactly the same position from one another 53964314-072F-40C2-AEAB-5D408B7111B1.png

Drive it off the lot, take off 30% when you sell it. I'd wait.

to me, that looks like a "home job" on the relicing.... I'd verify with Fender before dropping 2700 bux on it.. anyone that "ambitious" may have, and probably did, "improve" the electronics too... If so... I'd hafta be completely Drunk to offer 2000.00 for it...

Yes I would agree with Ron on the relicing. It’s looks like the ones being made today with the raw back of the neck. Pretty sure they weren’t doing that back in 04. The body could be legit factory but really it’s hard to tell

The neck does look like the classic fix for the sticky neck myth though. I mean it looks identical to my 2020 heavy relic pbass neck but not sure in this was being done back then. B43F9D65-97A6-40FF-8858-61A2F12A9718.jpeg
