Because it's that friggin' good.
And live on Arsenio. Iggy is especially on.
I've known the name since early 74 or 75
Never heard a note
Man, what an incredible performer and underrated singer. His recent album Post Pop Delression with Josh Homme is excellent, and of course his early stuff is classic and very influential.
I've always been a little put off by Iggy's infatuation with his own torso, but, otherwise....yeah...deadly badassery.
From the late sixties and on…. He needed a canvas to smear peanut butter…
Walking off stage from hand to hand, glad I wasn’t center stage.
Irrelevance rolls on.
all of rock is filled with naval gazers. self-centered little creeps run the world. Iggy's self-fascination, if he has it all, seems a little mild by comparison (and more revelatory of the critic's worldview than the artist's) to lead with it in any appraisal of his work or value.
Thanks a lot Fezz, now that song is gonna be stuck in my head for the rest of the friggin day!
It’s a good one. I’m hearing a rippin lead break for it, it’s ripe for one, might have to play around with that. Thanks for posting it.
That's a matter of opinion. I think it would slam the brakes on it. Kate is filling that space just fine.
The song is pure pop perfection...and what the thread is about. Not peanut butter or Iggy's lack of a shirt.
I wonder why I bother. Oh yeah... LoL
Sorry, I plugged in and went off on a new guitar this morning, so I’d probably wanna rip a lead to the Sesame Street theme song if I heard it right now.
That's a perfect little pop song and Kate is just killing it. This has the potential of sending me down two rabbit holes...Iggy and B-52s.
Two things come to mind:
I bet at the time some of the punks were shouting 'sellout' at Iggy (not that it matters). But here's the thing imho, of all the live footage I've seen of Ig over the years I've never seen him THAT happy on stage singing a song and he still retained his Iggy-ness. Eff the nay sayers.
Was that Waddy on guitar, far right in the vid?
Looks like his hair...lol
I remember that one well. Hadn't heard it in a long time. Thanks for that!
This was a fave when it came out.
Thanks for re-introducing it. hadn't heard it for a couple of years.
Man I love that girl.
Did some digging and yup! Wiki says he played on several tracks on that album.
