I may not know what's blues and what's not, but I know what grabs me; and my answer to your question would be "Yes". Love Steve Gadd on this too!

    ^^^ is it blues?

At 1:14 Buddy Guy says what he thinks about blues, and Eric Clapton. But what does Buddy Guy know, right?

Mmhm Buddy is cool. He’s just happy people are still playing the blues no matter their interpretation or age(Quinn Sullivan) and would never make it some exclusive, elitist type club. If you feel it then you’re in!

This guy lives somewhere in the Hendrix/Vaughan cosmos. Sure its a hugely copied style but when its well done like this, its still just some of the most grooving enjoyable stuff out there for me.

That’s a great interview. Buddy is such a humble, warm guy.
How Buddy isn’t at the top of the list is something I’ll never understand. Go see him, he is a treasure.

Yeah, I like it when I run across young players like this.. Full of juice and licks and while perhaps a bit unripened, just putting it all out there.

The only woman on "THE LIST" at #7 I think. I've been following Sammie since 2008 and have met her a few times. Everytime there is a Blues thread I throw a video of hers up there to maybe get just one more fan for her. She is quite a woman besides being an all around great guitarist!
This video is from a few years ago when Sammie would play anywhere anytime! Here she is playing a greenhouse in Washington DC.!

My only problem is some of the placements. Joe B as number 1, yes, I can get behind that. I’d have Buddy 3, for sure. And although I am in love with Samantha Fish, I don’t think she, nor Mayer, Kenny Wayne, Tab, Eric Gales, Gary Clarke, Kingfish, Marcus King, etc should be ahead of Robert Cray. He should be top ten at a minimum.
