Does anyone know the current value of a 35th Anniversary strat? These were limited to about 500 pieces from the custom shop in 1989. They have ebony fretboards and pre-amp'd lace sensor pick-ups. Im sorry for being the newbie, I did a search and found nothing. Is anyone looking to sell one? Thank you, Jeff
Admin Post Fender had "limited edition" Anniversary models practically every 5 years -- many were not even close to the original specs of the Strat and many sold poorly. I'm surprised by that price, too. Especially with Lace pickups and an Ebony fingerboard. But if they were a Custom Shop item.....
The description that vintage guitar magazine price guide gives is this: 1989 - 1991. Custom Shop Model, figure maple top, Lace Sensors pickups, Eric Clapton preamp circuit.
Are the lace sensor pickups known for poor tone? Maybe I will look at the newer strats, I hear that the new 50's Player Strats(Mexican)are pretty good.
I played an Eric Johnson strat today and it was awesome. At $1499.00 it seems to be a much better option than the 35th! Beautiful guitar.
