You put down your PRS long enough to come and talk about fender screw holes again! :D

Nice to see you back :thumb:

No...Fender doesn't release numbers unless it is a definite number of units....like my '96 50th annv which is 107 of 250.....but I think they are pretty rare....

My '04 50th is one that will never leave my side....might even ask to be buried with it....:):).....

I also have a G&L 30th annv that I didn't even know was made in left hand mode....but when I saw it, I jumped on it....

It is difficult to tell in the photos, but the G&L is a really cool Pearl Frost color...looks great in person....

    Take care....

Just wanted to update you guys.

I have'nt met the fella with the -04 yet, maybe will do later this week. But what i thought of doing before i meet the guy and try his guitar was to go to some guitar shops and play some strats (as i dont have any electric guitar at home atm, and havent played electric for some time).

I thought this would be a good thing "to get my bearings straight", but i played a brand new Ultra... And WOW. It just felt like love at first squeeze :D

Now i'm thinking that this wasnt fair against the -04, can you compare them at all?

I also played some AM Pro II, old hard tail -77 and a -75...

I will buy a AM Strat soon, and my budget is all the way up to around USD 3000...
So should i just go for a brand new Ultra?

The smart move is to always play them first and then buy what you love, you really can’t go wrong then.
If you’ve fallen for the Ultra, you’ll still be pining for it after you buy something else and ultimately spend more in the long run.
The Ultra is also quite a different feel to other Strats especially with it’s neck / fretboard radius.

If you like it the best, then yes.

Buy what you like the best - if you can reasonably afford it.

Let me make an analogy…test drive them both:

    Brand NEW 2021 Ferrari - maybe US$ 175,000.
Used 2004 Ferrari - maybe 1/2 the price. But somewhat negotiable.

    Same idea with Strats

My math isn't the greatest but how is 2004 the 50th anniversary and the 2021 is the 75th anniversary? Disregard, I just realized 2004 was the 50th anniversary of the strat and 2021 is the 75th anniversary of Fender. Let the flogging commence...

Go for the best guitar you can afford, you won’t regret it. I had a 50th Anniversary Deluxe, I bought it 2004 - I paid like $1099. Brand new. Traded it in on a EC Journeyman 30th Anniversary CS Blackie Strat. They allowed me $750. On it. Put it on the wall for $1399. - 2 years ago. The EC CS Blackie kicks ass!
