loving the late-70s vibe lately... the 'burst is an actual 70s, the oly white's an 07 Am series...

Here's a partscaster I built and sold about 12 months ago needless to say at a loss, but was really about learning to do these things.

Is there any way possible for this strat to be more black? Really, if there is any branch of science or evil manipulation that could make this ANY blacker, I am unaware of it.

Those look killer. Closest I have is a VM strat with a black PG and back plate that I have for sale locally. Looks sweet, and is a sweet player too, but just need to make some room. Guess there's a black guard on my tele partscaster too, not sure that counts either, but here it is anyway -

Glad you like it that's what I was looking for my Ebay description
This is a beautiful guitar looks matched only by the sound.
The body is a Fender Starcaster, black with a sparkle finish pretty fair condition with some light scratches. The neck is a Stagg Maple and Rosewood excellent condition with little fret wear and dead straight.
The Machine heads and pickups are by Schaller. Schaller Single coil s6 vintage pickups (retail from £35 to £55 each). They have a fantastic vintage strat sound.
This guitar is ready to gig with or just to practice in the bedroom. I will throw in the strap although it is worn and you may want to replace with a new one to set it off properly.
My guitars are quality instruments for very little money; they are only appreciated when played.

Got £52 for it and a very satisfied customer, oh well we live and learn

I own 4 Strats. 3 of them are all black. 2 Came like that and the other (the red burst) is a partscaster. I much prefer dark plastics (except on white guitars for some reason) and I have several Teles with black guards too.

Shown here are my Blacktop HH Floyd Strat. Currently my favorite guitar. A Squier VM 70's also a killer guitar on the cheap. And a mutt partscaster that is also a really fun axe to play.

That black one is really nice, my first ever strat was black, it can be blacker though, paint the headstock and get a black graphite fret board but I myself would leave it just the way it is

Anybody have any real idea as to why Fender went black? Did they just want to change it up to generate sales? Was there a problem getting enough white plastic?
