    That looks awesome.

Here's mine, I was going to switch the pick guard at first, but I kinda like it now!

Hey Fendre - sweet swirl! The back pic in your avatar looks like one of those shots of the earth from space. Sweet.

    Hi guys!

I've golden one with all black plastics..

just one question though: why are you guys using black-white-black ply pickguard? I personally prefer all-black.

I have a 2006 MIM Standard in Electron Blue that I converted from white to black. The black parts are made by Fender.

The guitar feels as heavy as a late 1970s Strat.

    you nailed it: personal preference.

I like the way the middle ply adds definition to the design, and I find the single ply looks cheaper (not to say it is)

I love the black single ply guard on the maple neck silver series squier model from 1992 to 94.
They also have that wonderful brown burst of some late '79's

This thread inspired me to make my rendition of a 70's looking axe, I built this for a quick barter flip, I needed an acoustic bass along with my acoustics for doing this newly started singer songwriter open mic, I am going to the ends of the earth to sell a song this year. The red one I built this weekend, the 70's strat tribute would be way on the right side with the white pickguard, this 70's guitar was totally built from stuff just laying around extra. I still have 4 strats but needed the acoustic bass, this thread is what inspired me to assemble this instrument
