Check it out, I recently bought this amazing nearly perfectly original 1971 stratocaster, its an early 3 bolt, and a cool transition model, note the single string tree. also has the cast
(not pat pend) saddles, but a two piece tremblock. An interesting specimine.

After buying the guitar I pieced together everything else including the tail logo case, 1971 hang tag manual, and other candy. all the wear is honest play wear and in my opinion the finish looks amazing

Its an amazing player, albeit very worn frets. Initially i was debating a refret but after getting used to it and developing a lighter touch, I cant put it down. the neck feels like a well worn pair of jeans. Only modifications are a 5 way installed very early on and replaced pots and cap at some point during its well worked life. also for some reason a couple of the pickup screws are different. 7.6 pounds and the neck pocket is solid, so not like the later 70s models that seem to be very polarizing

I understand it only had one owner before my friend who got it a couple months ago and then passed it on to me. its the coolest guitar Ive ever seen and sounds amazing. bonus shot of her sitting on top of my pre-mid '75 Rhodes

Always wondered how some fretboards become so worn... Is it fingers nails of the player over time or what? I make little to no contact with the fingerboard when playing.

Maybe the acidity in the sweat from fingers? I wonder the same thing...my fingers don't sweat though.

I think it ( the market ) has certain collectible guitars, and niche market guitars there are few that have gone up. I have a Brian May replica made by one of the guys that worked for the Fender Custom shop. I had a guy offer me a cool 10K for it in 2020 and real deal replicas are going for silly money. I would sell all my other guitars before I would sell that one.

    Nearly perfectly original he says.

I read that as parts and hardware as opposed to overall condition.
