It's funny, as a milennial who was born in the late 80's, I kind of like the over produced 80's sound with all its drum machine and synth glory!

Okay fine, being born in the mid 50s I still don't quite get some of the 80s sounds. I think that if I had to make a single criticism of the sounds of the 80s it would be "too much too fast" for many on the production as well as the consumer sides. "We have computers for that now"...when in fact the technology was like a newborn...child abuse?

I liked alot of 80s stuff mostly alot of hair bands. Back then I never really thought about how overproduced it was to busy partying lol. Now I would prefer no production and nothing digital. :)

You are either a very astute young man or saving that, I need to know where you acquired that small device that you were found to be carrying. Yes, I know what it is!:D

The real digitasters didn't happen until the 90s to be fair...who sent you and how could you have ported to my crtb tracker? :whistling:

Might this be an example @mikej89 ?

In any case, I like it. One of a multitude that pops up in my head on occasion.

This came about in the late 80s in the latter day's of JBs career. Rather than a guitar, a synth takes the lead break mid tune. It has a rather distinctive sound. Guess who that may be.

Over produced in the ´80s - well, maybe you are right.
They did nothing compared to nowadays.
Think about it - computers, melodyne, digital plugins, digital amps, synth waves and patches, filters and pre and post production extended to infinity.
They just scratched the surface back in the days.

    More is more,
    Robin

The production, and everything else on this, is way over done. But it was the peak of the hair bands. Beginning of the downhill slide...
