A friend asked me to teach him some guitar stuff, and I got carried away doing up materials and basically started a section on my site to be a complete lesson plan.

It's not finished but I have a lot of information on scales, modes, pentatonics etc.

Can you look over it and look for places you get tripped up and lose the understanding of what I'm saying (I'm sure there'll be lots of those.)

There's more information coming but I wanted to see if I've got this in a semi-coherent fashion:

    http://lessons.hardwirespeers.com/

    Thanks

And yes, many of you will have 'different ways' to approach these subjects - I get it, but please try to see how this flows as building blocks.

I clicked the link but my computer security refused to open it, told me it was infected with .url malaware.

    Cheers.

@nhsdpl So - I'd guess your antivirus sees some kind of standard wordpress stuff as a threat - did two scans with different website scanners and both came back with

    Malware Not Detected Low Risk
Website Blacklisting Not Detected Low Risk
Injected SPAM Not Detected Low Risk
    Defacements Not Detected Low Risk

I'm going to change the theme and maybe you could see if that makes a difference.

    Thanks

I found the page on the CAGED system to be confusing. I don't really understand your explanation of what it is, or how it works, but sometimes I have a hard time following technical stuff in writing. I prefer videos.

You also might want to proof read, there are some typos, and grammatical errors.

Not trying to be hyper critical, but you asked.

And that's why I asked - thanks for looking.

I've just re-edited it - can you look again?

That was easier to grasp. Explained more clearly that it is built from moving chord shapes.

I'm just trying to look at it like a beginner, and ask myself "would I understand this if it was the first time I had seen it?" IMO, you can't have too many illustrations, pictures, and diagrams when you're writing about this kind of stuff.

Over all, you have done a very nice job.

    That's fascinating

Sorry, but while AVAST (and it's counterparts) is a necessary evil on PC's - it's sometimes just wrong. There is nothing on there that should trigger that response.

Unfortunately - I know of no way to fix this. Just frustrating is all. Thank you for letting me know though.

Understood. I also have no expertise in this area. Would not surprise me if someone here does know something. Fingers crossed.

First off, kudos to you for the time and effort you’ve put into this work. Passing knowledge to others is a noble thing. :thumb:

As a beginner, I agree with @Ebidis regarding CAGED system. I find it a bit difficult to digest. Maybe you should start by explaining that the system is based on open chords shape and then the shape can be repeated but as barre chords.

    I’ll go through other sections.

Maybe contact AVAST with your website and details. They might ask you to prove ownership by uploading a file to your host. I’ve done the same with Norton before.

Just tried again, exactly the same response.

    I'm using Avast.

Okay, some more changes made and Avast has told me they've cleared their false positive report from their system. Thanks for the notes on those things.
