    Hi, I'm Gianni.
I got my first electric guitar on December 25th of last year (well, last month).
I have been playing acoustically with my Tanglewood Indiana for about a year. My first electric guitar was an MIM Standard Telecaster. It just felt right in the shop at the time. However, before Teles were even on my radar, Strats had always fascinated me. I noticed that many of the all time greats such as Clapton and Hendrix, favoured these beasts over all others.

I will now unashamedly admit that I was lured over from TDPRI by the CV Strat offer. However, I am no 'points whore' and hope to make a contribution to this community as I love guitars, though I'd obviously love a Strat to accompany my Tele. On TDPRI, the guys there helped me take off with my Tele. I learnt a few things there. From being in this community and contributing to it, I hope to have learnt enough about one of the most iconic guitars in existence so that I know what to look for in a Strat for when I eventually get one.

    Watch for my posts. ;)

Welcome. I've noticed that the members of this forum come from many countries. For those of you "across the pond", that probably doesn't mean much, but I really enjoy the input of other that aren't "in the bubble".

So you don't have that many members from the UK?
Well, most UK posters are probably English and I'm a Scot, as you can see. :D

Might as well get a few stereotypes out of the way.

    I don't wear a kilt.
    I don't live in a castle.
    I don't eat haggis.
    I don't live on a farm.
Scotland isn't a part of England.
I don't talk with an impossibly thick accent.
    I'm not a hopeless alcoholic.
I don't get into random fights with strangers on the streets (I'm not an 'Angry Scotsman').

Now that that's done, let's talk Strat! It will be a great day when I eventually get mine. If I'm lucky, I could well have one soon. I'll just have to make sure that I'm contributing a lot.

hi there and welcome lad. welcome to strat-talk. I've been to your home town. it was in 1973. I've been to Sterling Castle and off in the distance was a monument erected to one of my relatives. my last name is Wallace. and I've never had any trouble understanding Scots. unless they're speaking Gaelic. ha ha

Welcome Gianni from a fellow Scot.... I was born in Hamilton but I lived in the States since 1975 when my family immigrated to Minnesota.
