I can't say that I was always suitably appreciative, but I was lucky, had a good mom. Doubly lucky that she's still with us. Happy Mother's Day everyone.

Photo is from probably 1973. Anyone else have amusing family photos featuring mom, that you'd like to share?

My mom just turned 80 and is doing great, thank goodness. I was supposed to be over there with her now (my sis's wedding was originally planned for yesterday, but has now been pushed back to October).
Here's a pic from last Christmas in NOLA. Yes, I have a great mom.
    Love you, Mom!!

Thought I'd show my mom off for once. This is her a mere 70 years ago when she was 14.

And one from last christmas with a great great grandchild.

I wish I had a decent picture of me mum. She is 87 today and lives in the UK. She always seems a long way away on special days when I would love to take her out or just have her nag me a bit....:)

My mom is 85, getting weaker and her awareness comes and goes, but some days are good. She's in lock-down at a nursing home, and very confused why she can't leave the hotel. :)

She raised 5 kids, mostly without the help of our father. Five kids gave her 14 grandchildren and they gave her 9 great grandchildren...with one on the way (my first grandchild :) )

    Edit:
All five of her children went and visited her this morning we stood outside her window, because of the lock-down at their nursing home, and we sang Happy Mother's day to her to the tune of happy birthday. It's really sad how many people don't visit their parents, they're not disposable. I go by and spend 30 minutes or so everyday just talkin I'm trying to keep her positive. sure I have to answer the same question sometimes three or four times in 5 minutes but I guess this is just the adult version of a kids asking their parents "why".

If I turned out okay, it was largely to her credit, lol.

I know most people say their mom was the best....well I'm here to tell you...that you are correct....where would we be without our mom's....

Speaking for myself, my mom was and still is (though she passed in '89) my best friend....we had a great friendship along with her being a great guiding figure....lucky for her, she had my father who was the bad cop!!!!! :D:eek::D:eek:

Here is a pic of her on their wedding day from 1951....

And I can't pass up the opportunity to show a pic of my grandmother from the mid '60's too....with my first guitar....

    Love them forever...

This is my mom, who would've been 85 on the 6th of this month. She passed away 10 years ago. She's the gal holding the black cat. That's her best friend standing next to her (she's still living). In the early 1950s... IMG_20200510_162044.jpg

My mom has Parkinson’s. She is getting worse, shaking all the time. She helped put me through Nursing and Respiratory Care school when I was young. She is the only reason I’m staying in Oregon for the time being. She is not going to be going to a nursing home.

It’s hard watching her decline, but it seems to be the natural order of things. At least she has been able to see her grand kids grow up. She lives less than a mile from me in the same neighborhood on the adjacent street to mine, and I see her everyday. I’ve got to do things for her now. She is stubborn. If I don’t show up to do stuff as fast as she thinks I should, she tries to do things herself. I caught her on a ladder a while back trying to change a battery in a smoke detector. I was horrified that she couldn’t wait 10 minutes for me to arrive. I have to keep an eye on her.

Sorry, man. The other side of a post like this, and why I am not in the habit of making them. It occurs to me now that at least one member lost their photos in a fire last year.

FWIW: my folks were getting divorced about the time this picture was taken, lol.
