Jags < 2004 = not so good. Jags > 2004 very good. Total cost of maintenance for me on this one over seven years is close to nothing.
Cars seem to last much longer in your neck of the woods, up here they start rotting around 12 years old because of all the crap the put on the roads in the winter. They still look nice and shiny up top, but underneath...
The first owner of mine lived in York, had it for seven years, did 30k miles, Perfect underneath.
Only used to go down to golf course on Saturdays and the pub on Sundays then.
A good way to stop the DPF getting clogged up is to rev the **** out of it every now and then. It's officially known as an Italian Tune-Up.
We have the same problem here. All the vehicles start rusting underneath like mad, esp since they started spraying this concoction on the roads that is supposed to keep the roads from freezing. Even the guys putting it down say that's bs...
