I have a 2009 CS Deluxe Strat with bone stock, untouched wiring, my question is this, only my middle pickup is signed by Abby , did she sometimes only sign one pickup in a set? Or is this a case of grabbing parts out of a bin?
Possibly she's the one who wound that particular pup? I would think if she assembled the pickguard, she would've signed that instead. But you never know. I think it's cool when craftspeople sign their work. When I was installing truck beds, we had one that was going to Hawaii, so I signed one of the crossrails of the bed with white paint pen. I did the same with a couple trailers that were going to Australia. That stuff is always fun to discover, especially decades later.
My understanding the FCS HW pickups are all signed or initialed (and dated) by the winder or the person who supervises the winder. Particularly Abby and Josephina.
I kind of feel like my Tele 63 HW are not signed.
Hell… I bet it’s all over the place on this stuff.
Here’s my set, note the PU were wound in different days.
(One being my birthday!! )
You know… times change and yours are from 89. They could very well be a set wound by Abby and she signed dead center.
