Help me out here. I need a sanity check. A guy is offering me a 2006 Japanese Strat with what he says are Abby pickups that are original to the guitar. Did her pickups make it into Japanese instruments? My head says no, but my heart really wants this deal to be true.

Pictures to verify what's being said could be helpful. What is he going on as evidence?

He sent pictures, but they were taken with wax paper over his flip phone's camera lens. They're not helpful at all.

Pass! Anyone can turn a set of Custom Shop 69 pickups into ABBY pickups with a pen. They won’t make you play or sound any better. Pass!

You guys are the best. I knew it was BS, but oftentimes it helps to lean on a solid third person's perspective.
