Glad you liked it! The guitar is an Epiphone EJ-200SCE. It's my go to acoustic for sure. Great electronics and as a jumbo it throws out a fair amount of acoustic volume. On this track I'm using D'Addario Silk & Steel strings which have a nylon string feel and tone.

Thanks! If Clapton is God, then J.J. Cale inspired a deity. :)

I appreciate the comment, my friend! I keep the windows open and just let things roll when recording like this from an ambient mic. Sometimes organic and inorganic street noises and such become part of the vibe. :)

Thanks! Cool comment, much appreciated. Yeah, new D'Addario Silk and Steel strings and the mic gain was set pretty high. :)

I’d say that guitar is a keeper. And the background noise sounds like they cheering you on. It’s great!

Cool comment, really appreciate it. Yeah, I dig this guitar. I thump it pretty hard at times too. :)

The background noise is just the natural flow of life, not a sterile recording in the slightest. LOL

I did get to meet JJ Cale back in the late 70’s in Nashville and I always liked his music he seemed cool that day and wasn’t full of himself. He did write some great tunes that were covered by lots of folks. After Midnight was a Sally Band tune for us back in the mid 70’s-mid 80’s, mostly thanks to “God’s” version, but it was always a tune I liked playing even if it got overplayed back then.

It would be kind of fresh now if you did the JJ Cale arrangement or came up with a new good modern arrangement.
