So I have been unable to play or practice guitar in like the past two weeks due to an injury from a minor car accident. Such minor damage to the car, yet on drug regimen and 15 physical therapy visits start tomorrow. This same accident could have happened a decade ago, and it would not even be a blip on the radar. been off work most of the past three weeks also.

Every time I move my left arm to fret a note, my arm goes numb and pain in my upper arm. 57 years old sucks ass.

Hopefully the PT place fixes me soon. Its soon to be motorcycle season, and right now that looks like a bust as well, at lease for now.

On the bright side, my drinking skills are improving tremendously.

That does suck. Getting old is not for sissies, as they say. I really hope you get to feeling better soon.

If the accident wasn’t your fault make darn sure to put a claim against the other company for your injury. Trust me on this one.

Hopefully you be surprised at how much the PT helps. Grit your teeth and do the work (take ibuprophen BEFORE the PT session). Hope your healing goes well. I hear you about the age thing, a bruise on my leg takes a stinkin 2 months to heal now..

Yah, I've got "old man skin" on my shins now. Just a little bump and it bleeds. Luckily, I found neoprene weight-lifting guards that slip on, much like compression sox. Anytime I go out to the workshop...guards on first.

I understand, 2 years ago I blacked out at work and got a bad concussion, herniated and protruding disks in my neck, and cartilage damage in my knee. Now I wear special glasses and have vision problems. Knee is fixed after surgery. They put a plate in my neck to fuse my C5 C6 two weeks ago. Since I had all the pressure on my spinal cord I now have carpal tunnel in both hands, waiting to see if they are going to cover that surgery. My arms hands go numb and I lose grip, but I think learning guitar kinda helps sometimes to keep them stretched out. I'm only 39. Getting old isn't fun, but will be ok!!!

Best of luck on the recovery, OP. We do heal much slower as we age. Not like when we were young any you could fall off a ladder and laugh it off. Not everything comes back 100% now and it takes months and years instead of days.
